Spend time exploring at your own pace before meeting your Trafalgar Travel Director and fellow travellers this evening for a welcome dinner as excitement builds for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 – Grand Teton National Park

Wake to breathtaking alpine scenery as you explore Grand Teton National Park. Admire the jagged peaks of the Teton Range reflected in crystal-clear lakes, including the iconic Jenny Lake. This afternoon, choose to elevate your experience with an optional Jackson Hole Aerial Tram ride for panoramic views across the Tetons and Snake River Valley, or enjoy a western-style chuckwagon dinner for an authentic taste of frontier culture.

Day 3 – Yellowstone National Park

Journey north into Yellowstone, the world’s first national park and one of America’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Discover a landscape shaped by volcanic forces, where colourful hot springs, bubbling mud pots and steaming geysers dot the terrain. Keep watch for wildlife as you explore this iconic wilderness before settling in overnight at a lodge within the park.

Day 4 – Yellowstone National Park Exploration

Spend a full day uncovering the wonders of Yellowstone alongside local naturalist guides. Visit Norris Geyser Basin, the park’s hottest and most dynamic geothermal area, and travel through Hayden Valley in search of bison, elk and other wildlife. Witness the unforgettable spectacle of Old Faithful as it erupts high into the air, a phenomenon that has captivated visitors for generations.

Day 5 – Cody & The Spirit of the Wild West

Travel to the historic frontier town of Cody, founded by the legendary Buffalo Bill. Delve into the history and folklore of the American West at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, exploring stories of cowboys, Native American culture and early pioneers. This evening, enjoy a special dining experience that celebrates regional flavours and Western hospitality.

Day 6 – Devils Tower & The Black Hills

Continue across wide-open prairie landscapes, stopping at Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument before heading toward Devils Tower, a striking geological monolith rising dramatically from the plains. Learn why this sacred site holds deep cultural significance for Native American tribes. Later, arrive in Rapid City, nestled in South Dakota’s Black Hills.

Day 7 – Rapid City at Leisure

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Rapid City. Relax at your hotel or choose from optional excursions such as a visit to Badlands National Park, known for its otherworldly rock formations and sweeping prairie views. Alternatively, opt for an evening visit to Mount Rushmore to witness the seasonal lighting ceremony, where the monumental carvings are illuminated against the night sky.

Day 8 – Black Hills History & Mount Rushmore

Explore the cultural and historical heart of the Black Hills today. Visit the Crazy Horse Memorial, the world’s largest mountain carving, honouring the legacy of the Lakota leader. Continue to Mount Rushmore, where the faces of four American presidents are etched into granite. This evening, enjoy a meaningful MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® experience with a local cultural ambassador, gaining deeper insight into Indigenous history and traditions.

Day 9 – Farewell Rapid City

After breakfast, bid farewell to your travelling companions. Transfer to Rapid City Regional Airport at your leisure, or extend your stay to continue exploring this remarkable region independently.
