Buenos Aires
Catch the opera at the acoustically magnificent Teatro Colón. Weekends in nearby Placa Francia are home to local artists' markets. Across town in colorful Boca (the birthplace of tango), head to the Caminito for Argentine art and crafts. No vacation in Buenos Aires would be complete without an evening at Señor Tango - an evening tango show complete with an Argentine steak dinner and tango performances. Spend the day shopping on the pedestrian street, Calle Florida, or enjoying the architecture as you walk along Avenida del Libertador to reach the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Punta Arenas Chile
Punta Arenas is a city near the tip of Chiles southernmost Patagonia region. Located on the Strait of Magellan, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, its often used as base for excursions to the surrounding wilderness and Antarctica. The Plaza Muñoz Gamero has a memorial to explorer Ferdinand Magellan, and the Museo Nao Victoria features a replica of one of his galleons.

Ushuaia
The worlds southernmost city is located on the Beagle Channel, between the Martial Range and the end of the world. It is a key access point to skiing at Cerro Castor and Glaciar Martial, wildlife adventures with penguins and orcas in the Beagle Channel, and Tierra del Fuego National Park. Of course, it's also the port of call nearest Antarctica, and a unique destination for kayaking, sailing or having a drink in a warm hotel bar.

Antarctic Peninsula
A peninsula of land stretching out from the Antarctic continent towards South America. The Antarctic Peninsula is regarded by many visitors as being one of the most beautiful places on earth. Montevideo
Montevideo, a port city and the capital of Uruguay, is a perfect destination for travelers looking for a relaxing stroll past colonial era buildings and along beautiful beaches. The Ciudadela Gateway, the only remaining section of the wall that once surrounded the entire city, now serves as the entrance to Ciudad Vieja, Montevideos oldest neighborhood. Home to churches, museums, and theaters, at night the area comes alive with nightclubs playing Tango and Candombe music for crowds of dancers.

Rio de Janeiro
Rio is a city of stunning architecture, good museums, and marvelous food. Take a cable car up Corcovado/ Sugerloaf Mountain (1300 ft. above sea level) for a specatular view of Guanabara Bay and the city. Stop on the way to the summit at Morro da Urca to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer, symbol of the city and of its people. Visit Parque Nacional da Tijuca, home to 2,600 species of plant life, particularly bromeliads and orchids and a wealth of wildlife, including Toucans, Tanagers, Marmoset monkeys and brilliantly-colored butterflies.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Situated in a large natural bay, the capital of Tenerife in the Canary Islands has a stunning backdrop of the Anaga mountains. The manner in which the city bay embraces the sea with two arms is emblematic of the welcoming spirit of the city's inhabitants.
Arrecife Spain
Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote, is a quiet, beautiful port city situated on the eastern coast of the island. Sharing prominence in its urban layout are the streets of the historic centre, filled with shops, and popular neighbourhoods. Not forgetting the many museums and historic buildings which permit Arrecife to enjoy an active cultural life.

Las Palmas
Floating off the west coast of Africa, Gran Canaria is an island where natures many faces come together. A rocky coastline embraces most of the island, while beaches dot the periphery. Visit the fascinating Polar Museum or the arctic aquarium Polaria. Be blown away by panoramic views on a cable car ride up to Storstein Mountain, or hike up one of the trails that run through the Lyngen Alps. Alesund
Set on a magnificent fjord amidst the Norwegian Sea, the city that almost wasn't was rebuilt in an Art Nouveau style after being devastated by a fire in 1904. Its postcard-like Brosundet waterfront is lined with chalk-coloured houses and boats.

Bergen
Fjord-Norway's capital is a spectacular amphitheatre that clambers up the sides of seven mountains and overlooks the sea. It is the ideal starting point for discovering the dramatic fjord country of Western Norway. Bergen hosts the International Music Festival, the largest annual cultural event in Norway.
Stavanger
Perched on Norways dramatic western coast, Stavenger is a city full of historic architecture, quaint cafes and ocean views. Check out Gamle Stavanger, the picturesque old town, where youll find well-preserved wooden buildings dating back to the 18th century painted in unique pastel hues.
