Itinerary Highlights

Galapagos
Abundant wildlife above and below the waves draws eco-tourists to Ecuadors Galapagos. Get up close on a stroll or in a Zodiac boat. Snorkel and dive with denizens of the deep, from sea lions to sea turtles at Santiagos Cousins Rock. Hike by finches, flamingos and iguanas along the Darwin Trail. Admire Sierra Negra Volcano on Isabela. As visitor numbers are limited within the islands National Park, book your boat tour through a tour operator. Visit January through April for the best snorkeling

Gardner Bay (Espanola)
A visit to Gardner Bay consists of two different yet equally fantastic spots. The bay is mostly known for the gorgeous white sand beach, which is long, secluded, and features a colony of sea lions for some good photo taking. The surf in the bay is not particularly rough, and the swimming is excellent. If you're lucky, a sea lion may want to swim with you!

Punta Suarez
Punta Suarez can easily count as one of the most coveted visitor sites of the Galapagos. This visitor site is located on the western point of Española Island (hence the name) and consists of a trail of about 4 km (2 miles) in length. The trail passes among colonies of blue-footed and Nazca boobies, to then cross the the nesting sites of Albatross (which are present only from May until December), ending at a plateau with fantastic views of the blowhole known as "El soplador" (the blower) that sprays water some 25 m (75 feet) into the air. Apart from the birds, Punta Suarez is also home to sea lions, large marine iguanas, oystercatchers, Española Mockingbirds, lava lizards and the impressive Galapagos hawk.

Cormorant Point
Floreana was the first capital of the Galapagos, and where Charles Darwin met the islands' Governor. It's small brackish lagoon is often home to flamingos, stilts, and white-cheeked pintail ducks, and one of its beaches is a highly used nesting site for sea turtles. Check out the green-hued sand where you land.

Bahia Post Office (Floreana)
No visit to the Galapagos Islands is complete without a zodiac ride through the lush mangroves and coves. If you're lucky, maybe you'll spot some exotic fish, sharks, sea lions, turtles as you make your way to your destination. The Isla Floreana's Baroness Viewpoint offers a breathtaking view of the island's landscape as well as the bay.

Punta Moreno (Isabela)
Isabela Island is the largest island of the Galápagos with an area of 4,640 square kilometres and length of 100 kilometres, almost four times larger than Santa Cruz, the second largest of the archipelago. It was named after Queen Isabella of Spain. It was originally named Albemarle after the Duke of Albemarl

Punta Espinoza
Punta Espinoza, in Fernandina Island, is one of the most pristine spots on our planet, as no animals have been introduced to Fernandina, maintaining its ecosystem intact. Although the landscape looks barren on first sight, Punta Espinoza has the highest population density for marine Iguanas, which are found virtually on every inch of the landscape. This space is also shared by sea lions, flightless cormorants, penguins and Sally Lightfoot crabs that make a wonderful contrast with the dark grey pahoehoe lava.

Punta Vicente Roca (Isabela)
Although landing is not allowed at Punta Vicente Roca, this visitor site allows for panga rides to observe the abundant wildlife and offers one of the best snorkeling spots of the Archipelago. The snorkeling "route" takes us along the cliffs and offers the not so common chance of exploring two shallow underwater caves.

South Plaza (Galapagos)
South Plaza is a small island off the east coast of Santa Cruz in the Galápagos Islands. It has an area of 0.13 km² and a maximum altitude of 23 metres. South Plaza was formed by lava up streaming from the bottom of the ocean.

Daphne Island (Galapagos)
The entire island is a large tuff cone. Daphne Minor, a tuff cone (giant pile of compressed volcanic ash shaked like a cone), sits off the north coast of Santa Cruz Island, west of Baltra Island and North Seymour Island

Cerro Dragon (Dragon Hill)
This rocky, low-lying hill on the northwestern side of Santa Cruz Island is home to an impressive population of Conolophus subcristatus, or Galapagos land iguana. Dragon Hill's trail is one of the longest in Galapagos and it wends its way through a desert-like landscape, passing through forests of cacti and fragrant Palo Santo trees.

Puerto Ayora
Puerto Ayora is a town in central Galápagos, Ecuador. Located on the southern shore of Santa Cruz Island, it is the seat of Santa Cruz Canton. The town is named in honor of Isidro Ayora, an Ecuadorian president. The town is sometimes mistakenly referred to as Santa Cruz
