ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS

Honolulu
Urban sophistication and an unhurried lifestyle are the two most notable characteristics of this chic Hawaiian paradise. Honolulu is a modern city combining eastern and western influences, and its dazzling beaches and crimson sunsets make for an unforgettable vacation.

Kona, Hawaii
Welcome to the Big Island of Hawaii and to Kona. The Kona Coast is a land of infinite variety, ranging from pristine beaches to rolling uplands that are home to coffee plantations, macadamia groves and the largest privately owned cattle ranch in the United States. To the southeast lies Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, and Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. And offshore lies a fisherman's paradise. Kona is hailed as "The Billfish Capital of the World," and the town hosts the annual Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament.

Twice as large as the other major Hawaiian Islands combined, Hawaii's terrain ranges from tropical beaches to the alpine crags and basalt heights of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. At over 10,000 feet above sea level, Mauna Kea is the highest point in the Pacific Basin. On Hawaii, the temperature is always a result of elevation.

Papeete
Welcome to the largest city on the island of Tahiti, and the capital French Polynesia. Here you'll find a busy government centre and industrial port with a lot of charm. It's also a great starting point to explore Tahiti's several lagoons, black and white sand beaches, and volcanoes as well.

Moorea
Moorea's craggy volcanic peaks, reflected in the tranquil waters of Cook's and Oponohu bays, protrude from the island's basaltic base. Lush mountain slopes are covered with rainforest or pineapple plantations, and white sand beaches border crystalline lagoons.

Auckland
Auckland is a lively fusion of international style, local creativity and Polynesian charm. Its urban personality is bold, fast and fashionable, while its seaside ambiance ranges from rugged and untamed to smooth and tranquil.

Napier
Napier and Hawke's Bay have become New Zealand's premier lifestyle getaways. Located on the North Island's eastern coast, New Zealand's oldest wine-growing region boasts a superb Mediterranean climate and golden sand beaches. In recent years, Hawke's Bay has become a leading producer of fine olive oils and artisanal cheeses. Wildlife lovers and birders will flock to Cape Kidnappers in Southern Hawke Bay: the Cape is home to the largest mainland gannet colony in the world.

Wellington, New Zealand
New Zealand's capital offers stunning views of forested peninsulas, dramatic cliff-side homes and fine Victorian buildings. Settled in 1840 by the London-based New Zealand Company, "wonderful, windy Wellington" is frequently buffeted by bracing winds funnelling through Cook Strait. The sophisticated metropolis boasts museums, winding streets and even a cable car. No wonder many travelers compare it to San Francisco.
