Itinerary Highlights

San Antonio (Chile)
San Antonio is a Chilean city, commune and the capital of the San Antonio Province in the Valparaíso Region. It is the hub of the fishing area that spans the Chilean coast from Rocas de Santo Domingo to Cartagena.

Puerto Montt
Puerto Montt is a port city in southern Chile's Lake District, known as a gateway to the Andes mountains and the Patagonian fjords. The city's neoclassical cathedral, built from wood in the 19th century, overlooks Plaza de Armas square. Nearby, Casa del Arte Diego Rivera displays contemporary works by local and national artists. Just outside the city lie Caleta de Angelmó Market and Calbuco, an active volcano.

Puerto Chacabuco
Puerto Chacabuco is a town in Patagonia, southern Chile, known as a jumping-off point for the Aysén fjords. To the northeast is Lake Los Palos, with views of snowy mountains. The forested Simpson River National Reserve, home to cougars, is southeast. The nearby town of Coyhaique has a craft market selling handmade items. Glacier-fed San Rafael Lagoon and the Northern Patagonian Ice Field are to the southwest.

Corsica
The southern coast of Chile presents a large number of fjords and fjord-like channels from the latitudes of Cape Horn to Reloncaví Estuary. Some fjords and channels are important navigable channels providing access to ports like Punta Arenas, Puerto Chacabuco and Puerto Natales.

Amalia Glacier
Amalia Glacier, also known as Skua Glacier, is a tidewater glacier located in Bernardo o'Higgins National Park on the edge of the Sarmiento Channel. The glacier originates in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.

Cruising Beagle Channel
Beagle Channel is a strait in Tierra del Fuego Archipelago on the extreme southern tip of South America between Chile and Argentina.

Cruising Strait of Magellan
The Strait of Magellan, also called the Straits of Magellan, is a navigable sea route in southern Chile separating mainland South America to the north and Tierra del Fuego to the south. The strait is the most important natural passage between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Punta Arenas Chile
Punta Arenas is a city near the tip of Chiles southernmost Patagonia region. Located on the Strait of Magellan, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, its often used as base for excursions to the surrounding wilderness and Antarctica. The Plaza Muñoz Gamero has a memorial to explorer Ferdinand Magellan, and the Museo Nao Victoria features a replica of one of his galleons.

Glacier Alley
The Alley Glacier is a glacier in Antarctica that drains the north slopes of Britannia Range in the vicinity of Ward Tower and flows north to Darwin Glacier. It is separated from Gaussiran Glacier by a series of large rock buttresses, including Robertson Buttress.

Ushuaia
The worlds southernmost city is located on the Beagle Channel, between the Martial Range and the end of the world. It is a key access point to skiing at Cerro Castor and Glaciar Martial, wildlife adventures with penguins and orcas in the Beagle Channel, and Tierra del Fuego National Park. Of course, it's also the port of call nearest Antarctica, and a unique destination for kayaking, sailing or having a drink in a warm hotel bar.

Drake Passage
The Drake Passage or Mar de Hoces?Sea of Hoces?is the body of water between South America's Cape Horn and the South Shetland Islands of Antarctica. It connects the southwestern part of the Atlantic Ocean with the southeastern part of the Pacific Ocean and extends into the Southern Ocean.

Cruising Cape Horn
Cape Horn is a rocky headland on Hornos Island, in southern Chiles Tierra del Fuego archipelago. Its surrounded by wild seas off the southern tip of South America where the Pacific and Atlantic oceans meet. The albatross-shaped Cape Horn Monument commemorates the lives of thousands of seafarers who perished attempting to sail around the cape. A secluded lighthouse and the tiny Stella-Maris Chapel are nearby.

Antarctic Peninsula
A peninsula of land stretching out from the Antarctic continent towards South America. The Antarctic Peninsula is regarded by many visitors as being one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is included in many trips to Antarctica as it the easiest part of the mainland to reach, it also happens to be a fantastic place to visit.

Ecocentro is a clifftop museum with exhibits on Patagonian nature, and a lighthouse-style tower for ocean views. Across the bay, rocky Valdes Peninsula is home to penguins and elephant seals, which are preyed on by orcas.

Punta del Este

Montevideo
Montevideo, a port city and the capital of Uruguay, is a perfect destination for travelers looking for a relaxing stroll past colonial era buildings and along beautiful beaches. The Ciudadela Gateway, the only remaining section of the wall that once surrounded the entire city, now serves as the entrance to Ciudad Vieja, Montevideos oldest neighborhood. Home to churches, museums, and theaters, at night the area comes alive with nightclubs playing Tango and Candombe music for crowds of dancers

Buenos Aires
Catch the opera at the acoustically magnificent Teatro Colón. Weekends in nearby Placa Francia are home to local artists' markets. Across town in colorful Boca (the birthplace of tango), head to the Caminito for Argentine art and crafts. No vacation in Buenos Aires would be complete without an evening at Señor Tango - an evening tango show complete with an Argentine steak dinner and tango performances.
