Itinerary Highlights
Maria Island
Step ashore at Maria Island National Park, where historic ruins, rugged sea cliffs and abundant native wildlife combine to create one of Tasmania’s most memorable island experiences. This remarkable island is home to Forester kangaroos, Bennett’s wallabies and wombats, while highlights include a walk through the historic Darlington Settlement, a visit to the ancient seabeds of the Fossil Cliffs, and the chance to admire the island’s beautifully patterned Painted Cliffs.
Freycinet Peninsula
Discover the spectacular Freycinet Peninsula, where the pink granite peaks of the Hazards rise above sweeping bays fringed by eucalypts. Join a guided hike to world-famous Wineglass Bay, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and, if conditions allow, continue the day with a visit to Schouten Island for a more secluded coastal experience.
Flinders Island

Explore the wild and rugged landscapes of Flinders Island, where the pink and grey granite ranges of Strzelecki National Park provide a dramatic backdrop. Land at beautiful Trousers Point Beach and, depending on conditions, enjoy one of Tasmania’s Great Short Walks at either Trousers Point or Castle Rock. The day may also include time in local seaside settlements, insight into the poignant history of Wybalenna Settlement, and a visit to the Furneaux Museum to discover relics from the island’s rich maritime past.
Kent Island Group
Weather permitting, visit the remote Kent Group, Tasmania’s northernmost national park and a protected marine area. These islands are the remnants of an ancient land bridge that once linked Tasmania with mainland Australia more than 10,000 years ago. Here, crystal-clear waters and a rich diversity of marine life create ideal conditions for exploration, with opportunities for walks ashore as well as swimming and kayaking from the beach.
Tamar River & Launceston
Cruise inland along the scenic Tamar River toward Launceston, a city recently designated a UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Formed by the meeting of the North and South Esk rivers, the Tamar is lined with reserves, historic estates and notable vineyards. During your time ashore, visit a local truffle farm and enjoy the charm of riverfront Launceston, known affectionately as “Launnie,” while taking in its elegant architecture and culinary reputation.
Stanley

Visit the historic coastal town of Stanley, dramatically set beneath “The Nut,” an ancient volcanic plug measuring around 4.6 kilometres around its summit. Guests may choose to walk up for panoramic coastal views or take the chairlift to skip the steepest part of the climb. Afterwards, continue to Highfield Historic Site to gain a deeper appreciation of the region’s heritage and early colonial history.
King Island
Weather permitting, go ashore on King Island, where the wild waters surrounding the island are the final resting place of more than 140 shipwrecks. Learn about this powerful maritime legacy while also discovering the island’s other claims to fame — its outstanding local produce, especially premium beef and artisanal cheese.
West Coast Cruising
Spend the day taking in the raw grandeur of Tasmania’s west coast, a region of striking mountain ranges, ancient pines and untamed rivers. This rugged and remote coastline represents the heart of Tasmania’s wilderness and offers a full day of dramatic scenic cruising through one of the island’s true frontier regions.
Port Davey & Bathurst Harbour

Explore spectacular Port Davey, a protected marine reserve within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and one of the most remote corners of the state. Accessible only by sea, small aircraft or multi-day hike, this extraordinary region offers a rare sense of isolation and untouched natural beauty. During your time here, enjoy kayaking in Bramble Cove, excursions around Melaleuca, and opportunities for hiking and birdwatching in this pristine environment. Coral notes that the voyage spends two days in this area, and on departure cruises past remote Maatsuyker Island, home to Australia’s most southerly lighthouse. Access to Port Davey and Bathurst Harbour is subject to annual permits from Tasmania Parks and Wildlife.
Bruny Island

Experience the rugged coastal beauty of Bruny Island, where walks along Fluted Cape reveal sheer cliffs and sweeping ocean views. The area is also rich in maritime heritage, with time to learn about the stories of Adventure Bay and the island’s former whaling stations on the walk toward Grass Point.
Tasman Peninsula
The Tasman Peninsula delivers some of the voyage’s most dramatic scenery, including the soaring 300-metre dolerite sea cliffs of Cape Raoul, Cape Pillar and Cape Hauy — described by Coral as the tallest in the southern hemisphere. Look out for fur seals hauled out on rocky ledges, playful dolphins feeding offshore, and magnificent albatross riding the updrafts created by the cliffs. At Fortescue Bay, hike a section of the Three Capes Track toward Cape Hauy before the ship circumnavigates the impressive Tasman Island. In the evening, enjoy a signature event at Bangor Vineyard featuring some of the region’s finest produce, hosted by seventh-generation Tasmanian farmer Matt Dunbabin.
Port Arthur
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site, one of Australia’s most important convict-era landmarks. Located on the Tasman Peninsula south of Eaglehawk Neck, Port Arthur served for more than 40 years as a penal colony for British and Australian convicts sentenced to hard labour, before closing in 1877. Its evocative ruins provide a powerful and moving insight into Australia’s colonial past.

She boasts ocean views from all public spaces, all outside-facing staterooms (some with balconies), and state-of-the-art tools for exploration including the Xplorer, zodiacs, a glass-bottom boat, and kayaks. Her Xplorer bar and adjacent sundeck lounge with 360-degree views are much-loved features. Carrying only 72 passengers, she offers an intimate expedition experience larger ships cannot replicate.
