Situated in a large natural bay, the capital of Tenerife in the Canary Islands has a stunning backdrop of the Anaga mountains. The manner in which the city bay embraces the sea with two arms is emblematic of the welcoming spirit of the city's inhabitants.

Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote, is a quiet, beautiful port city situated on the eastern coast of the island. Sharing prominence in its urban layout are the streets of the historic centre, filled with shops, and popular neighbourhoods. Not forgetting the many museums and historic buildings which permit Arrecife to enjoy an active cultural life. 

Puerto del Rosario is a busy port and the capital of Fuerteventura, one of Spain's Canary Islands. It's known for its whitewashed houses and open-air artworks, including giant snail sculptures along the harbor promenade. Close to the harbor, Playa Chica is a sheltered beach with clear waters. Playa Blanca, to the south, has strong surf. Shops line León y Castillo and the pedestrianized Primero de Mayo streets.

The Gateway to Morocco overlooks the Straits of Gibraltar and provides a magnificent view of Spain's southern coast. The Grand Socco is known for its makeshift shops, snake charmers, musicians and storytellers, while the Kasbah features a Moroccan fountain, fragrant herbs and shrubs, and orange and lemon trees.

Tarragona is a port city in northeastern Spain's Catalonia region. Many ancient ruins remain from its time as the Roman colony of Tarraco. The Amfiteatre Romà is a 2nd-century arena facing the Mediterranean, the Necropolis contains Roman tombs, and traces of the Forum stand among the alleys of the walled, medieval old Town. A walkway along the ramparts, the Passeig Arqueològic, has sweeping views of the city.

The "Eternal City", with its 2,700 years of ancient history, is simply incomparable. Its formidable legacy is rooted in a plethora of masterpieces, including The Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, The Roman Forum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, St. Peter's Basilica and Piazza Novana.
