Day 2 Medoc

The Médoc is a region of France, well known as a wine growing region, located in the département of Gironde, on the left bank of the Gironde estuary, north of Bordeaux. Its name comes from Medullicus, or "country of the Medulli", the local Celtic tribe.

Cadillac is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France

Day 4 Blaye

Designed in the 17th century by the famous military architect Vauban as a true walled city to protect Bordeaux from sea invasions, the imposing Blaye Citadel stands proudly on a rocky promontory majestically overlooking the Gironde estuary.

Day 5 Libourne

Day 9 Porto (Oporto)

The town that gave the country (and port wine) its very name, Porto is Portugal's second-largest metropolis after Lisbon. Sometimes called Oporto, it's an age-old city that has one foot firmly in the industrial present

Day 10 Entre-os-Rios

Entre-os-Rios is a Douro River cruise port in Portugal. The town is located between two rivers - Douro and Paiva. The vineyards covering Douro Valley's slopes offer splendid scenery. The entire surrounding area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the home to the Termas

Day 11 Regua

Peso da Régua, commonly known as Régua, is a municipality in northern Portugal, in the district of Vila Real.

Day 12 Vega de Terron

Situated in Spain at the confluence of the Douro and Agueda rivers, Vega de Terron is one of the main drop-off points for excursions to the historic city of Salamanca. River cruise vessels on the Douro stop at a wharf where passengers are met by coaches. (The other drop-off point for Salamanca excursions is Barca dAlva, the last Portuguese village on the river.

Day 13 Barca D'Alva

These two small villages, a stones throw from the Spanish border, make good jumping-off points for visiting the other Douro River villages, and even for crossing over into Spain. Between sips of wine and bites of bacalhau, see prehistoric rock art, the ruins of an ancient fortress, and an 18th-century church

Pastel-colour houses line tiny, stepped alleys in old parts of town, while wide boulevards and mosaic cobblestone sidewalks highlight its grand 18th-century centre. The Alfama, an old Moorish quarter, retains its intricate, Arab-influenced layout.
