Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival (D)

pOn your arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, our local driver and tour guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel./p pAfter a tour briefing our tour guide will take you out for a Welcome Dinner./p

Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnel & Ho Chi Minh City Tour (B, L)

pOur tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and we will depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence.br / br / emCu Chi tunnels were home to around 10,000 people for several years. It took about 25 years to build the underground city. The tunnel system was an excellent way for the Vietcong to move around the countryside undetected by the Americans. /em/p pbr / On arrival, we will watch a short introductory video before exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels, the most famous battlegrounds in the world. We will explore the complex tunnel system and view may craters left from B52 bombing raids.br / br / Our lunch stop will be on the way back to Ho Chi Minh city before the city tour.br / br / Ho Chi Minh city, formerly named Saigon, is the largest city of Vietnam. In this tour you will learn about Vietnamese history in the War Remnants Museum and the Reunification Palace, admire French-colonial architecture at the General Post Office, Opera House and Notre Dame Cathedral.br / br / Our driver will transfer you back to your hotel around 5.30pm./p

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Eco-Lodge (B,L,D)

pOur driver and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at around 7.30am and we will drive to Cai Be in the Mekong Delta. On arrival, we will have a quick visit at Cao Dai Temple Cai Be which symbolizes for the local unique religion and then Cai Be Cathedral. We then embark on a boat to visit an inland market and a floating market to observe the daily life of the local people and buy some ingredients for our dinner. br / br / We then continue boating to the Mekong Eco-Lodge in Tan Phong Island, where we will check into our room and take a short relax before having lunch in an open-air restaurant. After lunch, we will take part in some local activities such as ditch fishing hook and fruit plucking or gardening. br / br / In the late afternoon, we will go back to the Mekong Eco-lodge to freshen up and relax before having dinner. In the evening try night-frog catching (if weather permits) or teaching English for the local children.br / br / Overnight at Mekong Eco-Lodge./p

Day 4: Mekong Ecolodge - Ho Chi Minh City (B,L)

pAfter breakfast, we will further explore Tan Phong Island with our guide and cyclo to some traditional handicraft workshops. We then visit a local farmer’s house to chat with the locals and pick a variety of fruits from the host’s garden. After that, we continue cycling to a conical hat workshop, seeing the local people make a beautiful conical hat from a special leave called ‘la buong’.br / br / We then head back to the Mekong Eco-lodge and relax before a late morning check-out./p pWe then transfer back to Cai Be by boat before our driver returns you back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City./p

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh City - Danang - Hoi An (B)

pAfter breakfast our driver will take you to the airport for a short flight to Da Nang./p pOn your arrival at Danang Airport, our local driver and tour guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel./p pHave the rest of your day at your leisure./p

Day 6: Half Day Hoi An - Morning Walking Tour (B)

pAfter breakfast at your hotel our local tour guide will meet you in your hotel lobby and transfer you to explore the town of Hoi An, visiting the 400 year old Japanese Bridge, 300 years old Chinese temples and 200 year old Vietnamese former merchants’ houses. /p pOur tour guide will walk you back to your hotel to enjoy your afternoon free at leisure./p pOvernight in Hoi An./p

Day 7: Half Day Marble Mountain Tour - Hoi An (B)

pYour tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountain) where you will discover the stunning natural caves of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view from the top of the mountain. You will also visit the mysterious pagodas and the sculpturing village.br / br / Then we drive to Cham Museum, which shows the most complete collection of rare and valuable items of the famous Cham Culture./p pOur driver will transfer you back to your Hoi An hotel to overnight./p

Day 8: Hoi An - Hue (B)

pAt 10am, we travel to Hue along the scenic highway 1A./p pWe will stop during the trip to appreciate the stunning views North, to Lang Co Beach and south to Danang City./p pOvernight in Hue./p

Day 9: Hue Rural Life And Imperial City (B,L)

pAfter breakfast, cycle to the outskirt of Hue towards Thanh Toan Bridge (roofed in Chinese style). Along the way, we pedal through small villages with verdant fields of Hue’s countryside, then stop at Thanh Toan Agricultural Museum.br / br / On arrival in Thanh Toan Bridge we will visit the nearby market and find local products from fresh vegetables, meats, fishes and poultry./p pContinue pedaling to some traditional villages of Hue where ‘Conical hats’ (Non la) are made and some other traditional villages.br / br / Back to the city centre, we then visit a garden house – a unique feature of Hue and the sit down for lunch in pleasant surroundings and enjoy Hue’s special cuisine.br / br / In the afternoon you will visit to the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945./p pWe will then depart to the Hue Royal Fine Art Museum, which is housed within the former Dien Long An Royal Palace. We will finish our day with a visit to Dong Ba Market.br / br / Overnight in Hue./p

Day 10: Hue To Hanoi (B)

pAfter breakfast our driver will take you to Hue airport for a short flight to Hanoi./p pOn your arrival in Noi Bai Airport, our local driver and tour guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel./p pHave the rest of your day at leisure./p

Day 11: Hanoi City Tour - Night Train to Sa Pa (B,L)

pOur tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel at 8am and then we will visit Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and his former stilt-house residence,the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh museum, One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and the Museum of Ethnology.br / br / The colonial capital city Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental pagodas and temples dating back a thousand years.br / br / After lunch we will take a cyclo tour in Hanoi’s old quarter and experience traditional street life before watching Water Puppet show. In the afternoon you have the option to visit museums such as the Hanoi Hilton or Hoa Lo Prison, the National Museum of Vietnamese History, the Vietnam Military History museum, and the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts.br / br / Our driver will drop you off at the train station for your overnight train to Lao Cai. /p

Day 12: Lao Cai, Sa Pa, Cat Cat, Y Linh Ho, Ta Van (B,L)

pArriving at Lao Cai station at 6am, you will be welcomed and transferred to Sa Pa./p pAfter breakfast, we will start trekking to Cat Cat village and Y Linh Ho village, homes of Black H’mong hill tribe people, stopping at a waterfall and hydroelectric station./p pWe trek through rice paddy terraces in Muong Hoa valley then stop for lunch.br / br / After lunch, we will head to Lao Chai village of Black H’mong people before coming back to hotel in Sa Pa./p pOvernight in hotel in Sa Pa. Approx: 5 hours walking/ 1-hour lunch./p

Day 13: Sa Pa, Heaven Gate, Silver Waterfall - Night Train to Hanoi (B,L)

pAfter breakfast, our driver and tour guide will pick you up and we will drive to the Silver Waterfall to see the stunning views of the Hoang Lien National Park./p pAfter that, we continue our drive uphill to the Heavens Gate, the highest stretch of road in Vietnam as well as the provincial border of Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces. (Approx: 2 hours driving)./p pIn the afternoon we head back to our hotel to pick up our luggage before transferring to Lao Cai to board the night train to Hanoi./p pOvernight on train./p

Day 14: Hanoi - Ha Long Bay (B,L,D)

pOn your arrival into Hanoi train station, your tour guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to our hotel for your breakfast./p pAfter breakfast the cruise bus will pick you up from your Hanoi hotel and we will take a scenic, 3.5 hour drive to Halong Bay. Enjoy the landscape of the Red River Delta countryside and have a short break on the way.br / br / Embark on our Classic Cruise around midday followed by a short cruise briefing. Cruise among the limestone islands while enjoying a delectable lunch./p pAfter lunch, enjoy kayaking among the hidden areas of the bay around the Luon Cave area./p pIn the afternoon we will head back to our cruise ship and then visit Soi Sim island.br / br / Go swimming and relaxing at the beach of Soi Sim or climb up to the top of the island for a panoramic view of Halong Bay. In the afternoon we return to the main boat to freshen up, relax or take some photos as the sun sets.br / br / After dinner on board, we have time to socialize with other guests, fish for squid, or simply relax./p pOvernight on our cruise ship./p

Day 15: Halong Bay - Hanoi (B,L)

pStart your morning with a Tai Chi exercise session or a photo hunt./p pAfter breakfast we will visit the amazing Sung Sot Cave then return to the boat to freshen up and check out of your cabin./p pNext we continue cruising to exploring the bay, visiting Ba Hang fishing village, Dog Islet and many more attractions./p pWe then head back to the harbor and watch the cooking demonstration before enjoying a traditional Vietnamese lunch.br / br / After lunch we disembark our cruise ship and you will be transferred back to your hotel in Hanoi around 5pm./p

Day 16: Hanoi - Luang Prabang (B)

pToday, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport for an international flight to Luang Prabang. /p pOn your arrival in Luang Prabang, our local driver and tour guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel./p pOvernight in Luang Prabang./p

Day 17: Pak Ou Cave & Kuang Si Waterfall Day Tour (B,L)

pOur tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in the morning. We will depart for the pier to board a traditional boat and cruise along the Mekong towards Pak Ou Cave. Located near the centre of Luang Prabang, Pak Ou is not only a particular destination but also a place, which shelters historic cultural values. Visiting the cave, you will see that this is the home for thousands of Buddhist statues with numerous dimensions. br / br / After a picnic lunch and a short rest, we will move to Kuang Si Waterfall. On the way, you will see the picturesque landscape of the country with villages and verdant paddy fields. Kuang Si Waterfall is considered as one of the most attractive destination in Laos. Visitors reaching here will have the opportunity to contemplate the beauty of nature.br / br / Transfer back to hotel in Luang Prabang./p

Day 18: Luang Prabang - Siem Reap (B)

pAfter breakfast you will be transferred to the airport in Luang Prabang for your flight to Siem Reap./p pOn your arrival in Siem Reap, our local driver and tour guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel./p pThe rest of the day is at your leisure./p

Day 19: Siem Reap - Angkor Wat (B,L,D)

pAfter breakfast, you will visit The Southern Gate of Angkor Thom, the famous Bayon, Baphuon, and Phimeanakas temples, plus Terraces of the Elephant and Leper King./p pLunch will be at a famous local restaurant.br / br / After lunch we will visit Ta Prohm then explore the Angkor Wat temple, the 7th Wonder of the Ancient World. You will climb up to Bakheng Hill to watch the sunset over Angkor Wat and the surrounding area. Enjoy a buffet dinner with a performance of Cambodian traditional APSARA dance show. Dinner at a famous restaurant./p

Day 20: DEPARTURE from Siem Reap for home (B)

pToday, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight home as your tour ends. /p
