Marine Life, Sun, Sea and Sand, this 10-day Queensland tour is the tropical island holiday you were dreaming of throughout lockdown. Starting in Brisbane, you’ll travel north to Airlie beach, with overnights in Fraser Island, Great Keppel Island and Airlie Beach.

Outdoor-enthusiasts will be in paradise with visits to Fraser Island, where you’ll spend your days in the great outdoors, on whale and dolphin watching cruises, 4WD tours and guided bush tucker demonstrations; Great Keppel Island, where there are 16 snorkelling beaches to choose from amongst other leisurely activities; and, the Whitsunday Islands, where you’ll spend time sailing the Great Barrier Reef.

Of course, all of this time spent outdoors will work up quite an appetite and thirst… which you need not worry about, as there are also plenty of food and drink experiences, including a visit to the iconic Bundaberg Rum Brewery, where you’ll enjoy a tour and tasting; and Sarina Sugar Shed, where you’ll embark on a guided tour of the cane plantation.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1 / Arrive Brisbane.

Welcome to Brisbane! Please schedule flights to arrive by 4pm in time for a welcome meeting and drink.

Day 2 / Brisbane - Noosa - Fraser Island.

This morning, head to Noosa, one of Australia's most popular beach destinations. Enjoy time to explore on your own, visit the stylish shops, and sample local cuisine. Then, take a ferry to the world's largest sand island, Fraser Island, where you'll spend the next 3 nights.

Day 3 / Fraser Island.

Start the day with a wildlife-watching cruise. Sail past the beautiful white sand beaches of Fraser Island and keep your eyes out for whales (seasonal), dolphins, turtles, manta rays, and seabirds as well. After your cruise, enjoy a bush tucker demonstration. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Why not hike to the top of Indian Head for some breathtaking panoramic views of the island. Keep an eye out for the island's wildlife including dingoes, brushtail possums, flying foxes, and sugar gliders.

Day 4 / Fraser Island.

Today, enjoy a four-wheel drive tour of the island taking in some of the island's landmarks including the sand cliffs of the Pinnacles, Wanggoolba Creek, the Champagne Pools, and the Pile Valley Rainforest. Your evening is at leisure.

Day 5 / Fraser Island - Bundaberg - Great Keppel Island.

Return to the mainland by ferry and visit the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. On your tour, you'll see, touch, and smell your way through the rich history of Bundaberg and then enjoy a tasting. Next, take a ferry to Great Keppel Island, a pristine tropical landscape and home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. Upon arrival, enjoy a short orientation tour with a Local guide. Evening is at leisure. Why not enjoy a refreshing cool drink as you watch the brilliant shades of bright orange, yellow, pink and red of the setting sun?

Day 6 / Great Keppel Island.

Enjoy a morning at leisure. This afternoon, visit the historic Leeke Homestead constructed around 1922. This beautiful building is a great spot to snap a few photos and to soak in the island's history. During your free time today, you may choose to take a jet ski safari, go paddle boarding, snorkel off Monkey Beach, see the reef from a glass bottom boat, or just relax with your toes in the sand.

Day 7 / Great Keppel Island - Sarina - Airlie Beach.

Take a ferry to the mainland and continue to the heart of sugar cane country. Visit the Sarina Sugar Shed for a guided tour of the cane planation and sugar mill. Arrive at Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. As this evening is at leisure, how about enjoying a swim in the pool or ocean, or getting a bite to eat at one of the many alfresco restaurants.

Day 8 / Airlie Beach - Great Barrier Reef.

Take a scenic cruise through the Whitsundays to the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Spend the next two days exploring the reef, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. While out on the reef, go swimming, snorkelling, ride in a semi-submarine and visit the underwater observatory. Optional activities include guided snorkelling safaris, scuba-diving, and scenic helicopter flights. Accommodation Spotlight: Spend the night on the Great Barrier Reef with a unique Reefsleep. After all the crowds are gone, the reef is exclusively yours. Enjoy a sunset drink before a dinner of fresh and delicious local produce.
