Beginning and ending in Hobart, you’ll travel around Australia’s island state, with overnights in Strahan, Stanley, Cradle Mountain National Park, Launceston, Bicheno and Hobart.

Nature-lovers will enjoy visits to Cradle Mountain National Park, where you can join your Tour Director on completing the Dove Lake Circuit Walk; Narawantapu National Park, also known as the ‘Serengeti of Tasmania’ due to the abundance of native wildlife there; and Freycinet National Park, where you can witness the beauty of Wineglass Bay on a cruise.

Throughout this Tasmania tour, you’ll also embark on many culinary adventures. Enjoy nibbles and wine as you learn about the local wine offerings on a Tamar Valley wine tour; you’ll also end your holiday on a high, as you enjoy a celebratory farewell dinner in Hobart’s historic wharf, featuring Tasmanian seafood and wine.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1 / Arrive In Hobart.

Welcome to Tasmania! Schedule flights to arrive by 4 pm in time for a welcome meeting and drinks featuring local wines and spirits.

Day 2 / Hobart. Excursion To Mt Field National Park & New Norfolk

This morning, participate in a master class at Federation Artisan Chocolate. Learn the process of making chocolate from bean to bar and enjoy some tastings. Travel to Salmon Ponds Heritage Hatchery & Gardens and learn the importance of the Hatchery while enjoying a short walking tour of the ponds and the 19th century English gardens. This afternoon, make a stop at Mt Field National Park and enjoy a short walk to see scenic Russell Falls. Arrive in New Norfolk with time for an orientation tour. Return to Hobart where your evening is at leisure.

Day 3 / Hobart - Lake St Clair National Park - Strahan.

This morning, visit the Wall in the Wilderness art project followed by a visit to beautiful Lake St Claire National Park. Next, visit a family owned business dedicated to salvaging the prized Huon Pine, which is unique to south-west Tasmania. Learn about the history of Huon pining, the family business and craftsmanship which has been passed down for generations. Spend this evening in Strahan, known as “the most spectacularly beautiful harbour at the end of the world.â€Â

Day 4 / Strahan - Stanley.

Explore the Corinna Wilderness while travelling on the only Huon Pine river cruiser in the world. Take in the region's history, amazing rugged nature and the local culture while enjoying morning tea. Continue to the picturesque fishing village of Stanley, where this evening dinner is at a local restaurant and features fresh local seafood.

Day 5 / Stanley. Excursion To Woolnorth & Cape Grim.

Journey to Woolnorth for an up-close visit to the wind farm and historic district. Drive through the pastures of the Van Diemen's Land Farms, Australia's largest dairy farm and visit spectacular Cape Grim for fantastic views of the rugged coastline. Return to Stanley where the remainder of the day is at leisure. You may want to enjoy a historic walk through town, take a chair lift ride to the top of The Nut for 360-degree views from the top, enjoy freshly made fish & chips, or join in a ghost tour.

Day 6 / Stanley - Cradle Mountain National Park.

Travel to Cradle Mountain National Park, one of Australia's most beautiful national parks. Sightseeing includes a visit to picturesque Dove Lake where you can join your Tour Director for the Dove Lake Circuit Walk. The remainder of the day is at leisure. You may wish to visit Devils@Cradle to learn more about the endangered Tasmanian devil, spend time at the Wilderness Art Gallery, take a nocturnal wildlife tour, or explore the many walking tracks in the park on your own.

Day 7 / Cradle Mountain National Park - Sheffield - Narawntapu National Park - Launceston.

Morning at leisure to explore more of this idyllic setting. Stop in Sheffield to see the town's famous murals, and then visit Narawntapu National Park, referred to as the "Serengeti of Tasmania" due to the abundance of wildlife. The park is known as one of the best places for seeing wallabies, kangaroos, and wombats. This afternoon, stop at Tamar Valley Wine Centre for a tasting of local wines and nibbles. This evening is at leisure in Launceston.

Day 8 / Launceston - Campbelltown - Bicheno.

This morning, walk along the scenic South Esk River and the weather carved rocks at the Cataract Gorge. Next, experience colonial life at Woolmers Estate, part of the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage property. Wander the estate and explore the Chapel, Store, Woolshed, Blacksmith's Shop, Cider House, Australia's National Rose Garden and Walled Garden. Stop in Campbelltown with time to walk the convict brick trail, dedicated to the nearly 200,000 convicts who were transported to Australia. Spend the next two nights savouring breathtaking views of Waubs Bay on Tasmania's east coast. This evening, why not witness a once-in-a-lifetime event on an optional penguin tour?

Day 9 / Bicheno. Excursion To Freycinet National Park.

Today, experience one of Tasmania's most extraordinary places, Wineglass Bay. Your cruise includes the history and sights of the Freycinet Peninsula and features amazing scenery and one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Keep your eyes out for wildlife including whales, seals, penguins, dolphins, and more. Next, visit the Cape Tourville Lighthouse for amazing views of the coast below. Return to your hotel where the remainder of your day is at leisure. For those wanting a little exercise, take the Wineglass Bay Lookout Walk for one of Tasmania's most celebrated views over the white sand beaches of Wineglass Bay.

Day 10 / Bicheno - Hobart.

Return to Hobart and visit the famous Salamanca Market with a chance to meet artisans and taste fresh local produce. This afternoon is at leisure. You may want to spend time at David Walsh's unique Museum of New and Old Art (MONA). This evening, enjoy a festive farewell dinner along the historic waterfront, featuring Tasmanian seafood and wine. The perfect ending to your time in Tassie!

Day 11 / Hobart.

Your holiday ends with breakfast this morning. You may also choose to extend your time in Hobart and explore more on your own. Extra nights are available for purchase.
