Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Uluru

Upon arrival into Ayers Rock Airport, you will be met by your local guide and/or driver from Wendy Wu Tours. You will be taken to your hotel in Yulara. This afternoon you will transfer out to the Kata Tjutas (The Olgas) for the Walpa Gorge walk followed by champagne and nibbles from the Viewing Platform at Kata Tjuta.

Day 2: Uluru

This morning rise early for a spectacular sunrise over Uluru. After a full breakfast at your resort, enjoy a guided base walk and a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole tour. This evening, watch the sun sink behind Uluru and the the desert light up with the once-in-a-lifetime field of light installation by celebrated artist Bruce Munro which is on display for a limited time. Then take your seat at the Sounds of Silence Experience!

Day 3: Uluru - Kings Canyon

This morning following one more sunrise, enjoy a visit to the Cultural Centre to see the Dot Painters in action, followed by lunch where you will have the opportunity to dine as you please with your own arrangements. Transfer to Kings Canyon for an early evening arrival and enjoy dinner and a drink on the sundower deck.

Day 4: Kings Canyon Rim Walk

This morning rise early and enjoy the magnificent Rim Walk (3 -4hrs) at Kings Canyon including a visit to the Garden of Eden. The rest of your day is at leisure to explore at your own pace.

Day 5: Kings Canyon - Alice Springs

Transfer to Alice Springs for an afternoon city tour. Learn how the town of Alice Springs has evolved into the central hub of the Australian outback. Over the next 2 days visit historical sites and some of the essential services delivered from Alice to the community of this vast region.

Day 6: Nocturnal Tour

Today, continue your exploration of this fascinating region. Visit the School of the Air, the Telegraph Station and the Royal Flying Doctors HQ. Tonight following dinner and a tasty pint at Alice Springs Brewing Co, meet your expert guide in the Alice Springs Desert Park Courtyard and receive your own specialised head torch before starting a Nocturnal Tour through a rich desert habitat full of life. Stopping to spotlight endangered animals of Central Australia showcasing their natural behaviours.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Darwin

Welcome to Darwin. You will be met by your local guide and/ or driver from Wendy Wu Tours. You will be taken to your hotel in Darwin. Late this evening enjoy a welcome dinner at Hanuman.

Day 2: Darwin - Kakadu

Enjoy the famous Jumping Crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River. Then continue on into Kakadu National Park, travelling through pristine wetlands and a suite of landscapes varying from red-hued escarpments to floodplains teeming with wildlife. Continue to Ubirr, where you'll climb up through the ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries, believed to be around 20,000 years old, to the lookout for a spectacular view.

Day 3: Kakadu - Katherine

This morning you'll be mesmerized as you explore the renowned Nourlangie rock art site. Later, visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre for an insight into the local Bininj culture before joining your specialist local guide for a cruise to experience the beautiful and peaceful scenery on Yellow Water Billabong. Enroute to Katherine, stop at Leliyn (Edith Falls). The pandanus-fringed natural pool is suitable for swimming throughout most of the year.

Day 4: Katherine - Darwin

Enjoy a morning cruise through Katherine Gorge. This stunning network of thirteen gorges are carved from billion-year-old sandstone. You'll be at its heart among freshwater crocodiles, wonderful birdlife and amazing scenery. Later, view the displays at the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre, where you may purchase artefacts handmade by the Jawoyn people. Return to Darwin, stopping at the historic gold mining town of Pine Creek and the poignant Adelaide River War Cemetery.

Day 5: Depart Darwin

This morning following breakfast, enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the Darwin Aviation Museum and learn about the B-52 Bomber on permanent loan from the United States Air Force, among 19 aircraft on display. View some rare amateur footage of and original footage from Japanese archives. Later, enjoy time at leisure in the stunning Darwin Botanic Gardens before you'll be transferred to Darwin airport for your onward journey.
